Nature’s little messengers!

Ever noticed that nature is trying to speak to you? I’ve found the more time I spend in nature and the more I take in and appreciate her beauty the more she speaks to me. We have largely lost our connection to mother earth here in the west and I wonder if it’s not a major cause of all the high stress and adrenal burn out that is so common these days. I know it’s so true for me.

Right now Deer energy is communing with me strongly. Living right onto crown land we are always blessed with their presence in winter when they come and eat up the seeds that the birds drop from the feeder. But last week’s heavy snowfall then thaw, then refreeze seems to have created especially hard conditions for our friends the Deer to move about in. I came across a herd of 20-30 on the trail in the woods the other day and I realized they are really restricted in their movements right now. I also watched a group of 4 try and break trail at the back of the house and they were sinking in to their chests and getting stuck. That’s a lot of energy to expend and made sense as to why they are sticking to smaller areas. Finding food may be even harder for them right now. My heart goes out to them.

I read up on Deer energy this morning……and how perfect is its medicine in my life. Deer asks us to find the gentleness of spirit that heals all wounds. To stop pushing so hard to get others to change, and to love them as they are. Am I willing to love myself enough to feel my fears and let them go? Am I willing to find things to love about myself and others, because my fears cannot exist in the same place that love and gentleness abide.

Thank you Deer, for your reflection, teachings and wisdom.

Off now to do some inner reflecting and homework!
